It was introduced at SIHH 2016. The IWC Pilot's Watch Chronograph Spitfire IW377719 was introduced at SIHH 2016. Whereas the previous generation of the Spitfire was fitted with an in-house movement, this 2016 version is based on the regular IW3777, trusting on the tried-and-tested caliber 79320 to power its six hands (and two discs). While being based on the regular IW3777, there are a few changes that give the Spitfire quite a different feel. Hard to be missed is the grey dial with sunburst finish; more subtle are the mirror-polished finish on both the bezel as well as two rows of the five-row bracelet.
