Within the last few years, Oris has developed new calibres, like the Oris 110 and 111, to reposition themselves within the watch making industry with more functions on their watches. At Basel World 2016, Oris introduced the impressive Calibre 112.   [caption id="attachment_5237" align="alignnone" width="598"]Oris Artelier Calibre 112 Oris Artelier Calibre 112[/caption]   The Oris Artelier Calibre 112 was developed by Oris’s in house development team. My favorite part about the calibre 112, is the GMT function with a day-night indicator. The GMT function is located at 12 o’clock. There are two cut outs on this part of the dial, a crescent shape that represents the moon and a circle that represents the sun. Under the dial, there is a two toned rotating disk that makes the sun go white during the day, and the moon white during the night. The crescent moon and sun are half white, half gold during sunrise and sunset.  I think this is a really special and well thought out design to distinguish between day and night. The watch has a 10 day power reserve. The patented power reserve indicator has a circular form which shows even more details about when the watch needs to be rewound. The all new Oris Artelier Calibre 112 is available with an 18 karat rose gold bezel and opaline silver dial, and retails for EUR 7,400. There is also a stainless steel version available with a blue-grey or silver dial. Pre-order via e-mail at service@acejewelers.com
