Diving watches rose to popularity in the 1960's when the recreational sport was seen as an activity for those who could afford the gear and extensive training that goes along with scuba diving.. In 1965, Oris released their now famous diving watch. This year at Basel World, they re-launched the Divers Sixty Five with modern updates such as a blue dial and vintage touches. After the huge popularity of the model, Oris has outdone themselves yet again by re-releasing the Oris Divers Sixty Five with a green dial. The vivid color takes inspiration from the greenery found at the bottom of the ocean floor.
The green model features the same functions as it's blue counterpart, but it is offered on three different straps in addition to a stainless steel bracelet. Oris reintroduced the rubber strap that was first introduced in the original Divers watch. They also designed a black and green striped nato strap with a stainless steel bracelet that mixes comfort with modern taste. Lastly, there is a distressed brown leather strap that gives off a more vintage vibe to match the retro index.
