The skeleton hands on the new models have been widened slightly. Omega has also come up with a new patented helium escape valve with a conical shape that allows divers to release while underwater. The date window has been relocated from three o'clock to six o'clock to provide a more symmetric look to the watch face. The new Seamaster Diver 300M's are powered by the Calibre 8800, a METAS approved automatic calibre with a 55 hour power reserve.
In addition to the stainless steel models launched this week, Omega has also launched a limited edition tantalum, titanium and Sedna gold version. Tantalum was used in the original 1993 designs of the bracelet and base for the bezel. The cool toned silver color of this material is a beautiful contrast to the titanium and Sedna gold found on other parts of the watch. These models will be ready for shipping from October 2018.
