Nanis, the queen of matte finished jewelry, is one of my favorite jewelry brands that we carry at Ace. I stopped by Ace & Dik Jewelers to pick up some pieces of jewelry for a photoshoot. Once I got my hands on this bracelet, I fell in love.     This bracelet is from the Dancing in the Rain collection. Every 'rain drop' is cascading in size to and from the middle of the bracelet. In true Nanis fashion, each hollow constructed form is finished by hand to create that glowing matte finish.     As a trained goldsmith, I always appreciate clever connections. I wouldn't have liked this bracelet as much if it was simply gold beads on a string. Nanis connected each golden rain drop using a chain link, which is threaded through the rain drop and then soldered together. The connection is beautiful yet also hardly noticeable. The uniform sized jump rings used to make the connection gives the forms perfect spacing between each 'rain drop'.     At a first glance, I didn't notice the clasp (and that is a good thing..!). It wasn't until I started photographing it that I realized how beautifully done the clasp is. This is not a commercial standard lobster clasp. The form of the clasp is similar to the form of the 'rain drops'. The clasp is of course finished with the quintessential Nanis matte finish. I will never forget when my goldsmithing instructor told me that the back should look as good, if not better than the front. Nanis never fails to consider every element in her designs. This bracelet retails for EUR1.400 including VAT, and is in stock at Ace & Dik Jewelers.
