This is the one that started it all in 2012. In 2016 it was upgraded with an in-house movement. The original Black Bay is available with either a burgundy, black or blue bezel insert. Note that the latter does not features a pure white lume rather than the warmer vintage-esque used on the two former.
The Black Bay Fifty-Eight was added to the collection in 2018. The name is a reference to the 1958 'Big Crown', andiIt is slightly smaller and more slender than the original Black Bay, evoking the feel of the brand's original Submariners from the early days.
A Black Bay sans rotating bezel? Yes! This was first seen in 2016 with the Black Bay 36, while the 41 and 32 followed in the subsequent years. The lack of a diving bezel is not the only difference: these are powered by ETA movements, and the bracelets are not of the rivet-style. Black or blue for you?
The Tudor Black Bay GMT was introduced in 2018. It blends signature Black Bay elements with a touch of Rolex' GMT - in fact, with its lack of crown protectors it feels very similar to the original 6542 GMT-Master. Inside is Tudor's first in-house GMT movement.
The Tudor Black Bay Chrono is arguably the most original of the series, mixing elements from the race track with serious diving skills. Rather than an ETA (+module) or ETA-Valjoux, Tudor sourced a movement from Breitling - the much-praised B01 - and reworked it to its own specs. Did you notice that the hands are slightly slimmer on this version?
The Tudor Black Bay Steel was introduced in 2017. It features an engraved stainless steel bezel insert rather than the aluminum one. The monochrome look is highlighted by red depth rating on the dial. It also features a date window.
The Tudor Black Bay S&G (Steel & Gold) was introduced in 2017 with a black dial, while the champagne followed this year. It features a partially gold-capped (not plated!) bracelet and a solid gold bezel for a lush take on the Black Bay template - even more so with the new champagne dial - though the brushed finish of the gold links does tone it down a bit. This one too features a date window.
The Tudor Black Bay Dark was added to the collection in 2016. It features a black PVD-coated case, a black dial, and a black aluminum bezel insert - it's all black basically. Like with the Black Bay Steel there's a single line of red text on the dial to brighten things up. The earliest versions had a straight-end bracelet, which has since been replaced with the flush-fit version.
Bronze is hot, and the 2016 Tudor Black Bay Bronze is one of the hottest among all bronze watches. It has a case made of an aluminum-based bronze alloy which Tudor paired with a brown dial and bezel. At 43mm this is the largest Black Bay out there.
