With the entire watch world eyeing the bright and funky Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch releases, the Bienne-based brand also quietly released a watch of a whole different caliber. Please welcome the Omega CK 859!
The new Omega CK 859 is inspired by the CK 859 of 1939. But this being 2022, the watch sports all of Omega's latest tech. The stainless steel case measures a contemporary yet fairly classic 39mm across. The original 1939 CK 895 was powered by the famous 30T2, but in this new watch we find a hand-wound, in-house movement in the form of caliber 8926. This Certified Master Chronometer, approved by METAS, is resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss, and has a power reserve of 72 hours once fully wound. The movement can be admired through the see-through case back. The Omega CK 859 is a numbered edition, which means that while not limited, all are individually numbered on their case backs.
Just like its 1939 source of inspiration, the 2022 Omega CK 859 sports a dial with so-called 'Sector' layout, with all markers and scales in dark blue. As witnessed by the Ag925 (can you spot it?), this dial is made of solid silver, and time is indicated by a set of elegant blued hands in Losange style.
The Omega CK 859 is available for pre-order on our website.
