Omega updates the Seamaster Aqua Terra for 2022 with a slew of new dial colors: pastels for the 34mm version, and earthy tones for the 38mm case size.
Over the past couple of years we've seen brands experiment with color more and more. In days past the choice would often be limited to black, silver, dark blue and grey. Nowadays its increasingly common to see more colorful options, such as green (already a must), ice blue, and pastels. It's a movement we very much encourage and love. The world can use a bit of color! And now, for 2022, Omega updates its do-it-all Seamaster Aqua Terra with colorful new dials for the case sizes 34mm and 38mm.
The smaller of the two Seamaster Aqua Terra watches gets five pastel tones in sunburst finish; Sea Blue, Lagoon Green, Sandstone, Shell Pink, and Lavender. Both the hands as well as the hour markers are 18k white gold. The hour markers are shaped like sailboat hulls, and the date can be seen through a circular window at 6:00.
The larger 38mm Seamaster Aqua Terra also gets five new dial options. For the colors, the brand found inspiration in the transition from ocean to earth. The tones range from Atlantic Blue via Bay Green, Sandstone, and Saffron to earthy Terracotta. Here, the hour markers feature sharp faces, lines echoed in the trapezoidal window for the date.
Both the 34mm as well as the 38mm versions of the Seamaster Aqua Terra are powered by the same movement, caliber 8800. This self-winding movement has a free sprung-balance with silicon balance spring, and offers power reserve of 55 hours. The movement, finished with rhodium plating and Geneva waves in arabesque, can be admired through the see-through case back. Water resistant is set at 150 meters.
